CORNWALLIS ACADEMY – UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE POLICY 2019-2020
Students are expected to wear full, correct school uniform for reasons of health and safety, supporting positive behaviour and promoting a strong school identity. Along with the uniform described below all students are required to wear a year group tie as below:
Year 7 – Blue Year 8 – Black Year 9 – Green Year 10 – Yellow Year 11 – Red
Black closed toe formal shoes (or formal waterproof boots in the winter) for use throughout the schoolTrainers or sports/leisure footwear of any colour are not acceptable. Socks should be dark and worn underneath trouser legs. Trousers must be worn over the top of shoes and not tucked into socks or bootsBoots must be worn under trouser legs
One small pair of gold/silver sleeper studs, one worn in each ear lobe is permissible. Jewellery worn in any other piercing (e.g. eye-brow, nose, upper ear, lip, tongue etc) is NOT permitted Additional items of jewellery, with the exception of a watch should not be worn. E.g. necklaces/chains, bracelets, rings etc.
Make up should not be excessive and be natural in appearance Nail varnish – or acrylic nails must not be worn Hair styles-one natural colour only. No extreme hairstyles and a minimum of grade 2 cut for all students.
