Employers Careers Information

The value of employer engagement with our students cannot be underestimated. We are so proud of the huge number of employers who work with our students to prepare them for the world of work from BAE, to Santander and the NHS.

Through careers events (Higher Education Fair, whole school careers fair and Apprenticeship Event), lunchtime ‘meet the expert’ talks, interview sessions (Year 10, Year 11 and Sixth form), academic lectures, subject-led experience days such as STEM workshops, and work experience opportunities, students have a multiplicity of opportunity to engage with employers.  The whole school opportunities include the bi-annual careers fair where this year we had over 50 stands: the whole school are taught how to make the most of this opportunity through a series of tutorials and the evaluations across the school were really positive.

We draw on the expertise of employers from a wide range of sectors: private, public and voluntary and our students benefit in so many ways.  They develop an understanding of the workplace, of employer expectations, of the need and benefit of developing their transferable employability skills and most importantly of the breadth of opportunity available to them.  They grow in confidence and self-belief. They learn more about what employers have to offer: apprenticeships, internships, scholarship programmes, and so on. They develop a greater understanding of what they need to do in order to pursue their chosen career.
