Headteacher’s Welcome

Cornwallis Academy is a highly successful and popular school, enabling all students to be the best they can be, by having ‘ambitions for all’. We believe all students should be given every opportunity to achieve not only academically but also personally. In line with our Cornwallis ‘SMILE’ ethos, our aim is to motivate, inspire, excite and engage all students to become successful.

We place students’ wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. A strong community ethos permeates throughout the school, focusing on learning and progress, as well as the whole child.

Our ambition is to ensure that all students achieve their full potential within a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. We also aim for all our students to develop as confident, courteous and capable young people.

We value outstanding teaching and provide a highly engaging curriculum. Our staff have an unwavering commitment to continued improvement, in order to provide the best comprehensive education we possibly can. We are very proud of the pastoral care we provide for our students. Our pastoral teams are highly skilled and adept at supporting students to manage the transition from childhood to adulthood.
