School Uniform

CORNWALLIS ACADEMY – UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE POLICY 2023-2024

Students are expected to wear full, correct school uniform for reasons of health and safety, supporting positive behaviour and promoting a strong school identity. Along with the uniform described below all students are required to wear a year group tie as below:

Year 7 – Black
Year 8 – Green
Year 9 – Yellow
Year 10 – Red
Year 11 – Blue

Footwear	Where to purchase
Black closed toe formal shoes (or formal waterproof boots in the winter) for use throughout the school. Trainers or sports/leisure footwear of any colour are not acceptable. Socks should be dark and worn underneath trouser legs. Trousers must be worn over the top of shoes and not tucked into socks or boots. Outdoor clothing
A plain dark coat/anorak/jacket suitable for wet weather – denim/leather/hoodies/clothing with large logos or writing should not be worn	Available from Simmonds or a shop of your choice

Jewellery
One small pair of plain sleeper studs (gold/silver/clear), in each ear is permissible. Diamante studs or bars are NOT permitted. Jewellery worn in any other piercing (e.g. eye-brow, nose, lip, tongue etc) is NOT permitted. Additional items of jewellery, with the exception of a watch should not be worn. E.g. necklaces/chains, bracelets, rings etc. Students will be asked to remove any items being worn that do not meet our uniform expectations. Repeat incidents may result in the items being confiscated.

Make up should not be excessive and be natural in appearance. False eyelashes must not be worn. Nail varnish – or acrylic nails must not be worn Hair styles-one natural colour only. No extreme hairstyles and a minimum of grade 2 cut for all students.
