Applications for children due to start secondary school in September 2020 will open on September 1st 2019 and will close on October 31st 2019.
Year 7 Applications
For admissions into next year’s Year 7, parents and carers are required to complete an application form known as the “Common Application Form” (CAF) through Kent County Council. This can be found by clicking here for the Kent County Council 'Applying for a School' web page,
Year 7 Admissions Key Dates – September 2020 Intake
1st September 2019 - Online application opens and paper CAF forms available
31st October 2019 - Deadline for return of CAF forms to the Local Education Authority
1st March 2020 - Parents/Carers that applied online will receive an offer email after 4pm or letters posted (you will be asked to select a method of contact)
March 2019 (Date to be confirmed by KCC) - Deadline for Admissions Appeals to be made in writing to the Academy

In Year Admission
If you are looking for a place at the Academy because you have recently moved into the area, or your child is at another secondary school and you feel that a change of school would benefit their education and/or general well being, you are entitled to apply for a school place. Please contact the Academy Admissions Officer to request an In-Year Admissions Form or download a copy at the bottom of the page. This form must be completed and returned to the Academy Admissions Officer.
Note: there is no guarantee that a place will be available but you have the right to appeal if you are declined a place.

Consultation on Admissions Policy 2021/2022
In accordance with the DfE 2014 statutory "School Admission Code", Cornwallis Academy are now consulting on the following proposed changes to our Admission Policy for 2021/22:
The Academy proposes to reduce the Published Admission Numbers from 255 to 210.
This consultation must take place for a minimum of six weeks with arrangements being determined, finalised and published by 28 February. Full information can be found by clicking the following link:

The consultation period will run from Thursday 19th December 2019 until Thursday 30th January 2020.
During this time, we invite stakeholders to express their view on the proposes changes. Comments are particularly welcome from parents and carers of children between the ages of 11 and 16 or other interested parties. These should be sent in writing to the Academy for the attention of the Clerk to Governors, Cornwallis Academy, Hubbards Lane, Maidstone ME17 4H or by email to email@example.com.
All written responses to the consultation should be submitted before 4pm on Thursday 30th January 2020. Your response must include your name, address and relationship to the school or any relevant interest you may have with regard to the Academy such as the organisation you represent.
At the end of the consultation period, Future Schools Trust (as the admission authority) will give consideration to the responses received. The Trust will then determine Cornwallis Academy's arrangements for the academic year 2021/22, a copy of which will be published on the Academy’s website.
