At the end of the second week students have been excited to see work on their temporary library, after fundraising last academic year for this to be possible. Fundraising will continue this academic year, in order to raise funds to build a larger mezzanine library within the academy.
On their return from the summer holidays students were also delighted to see the continued investment in the learning environment, with two more plazas being converted to create three designated classrooms in each. This is to support our ever increasing breath of curriculum and pupil intake, leading to increased demand for space. At Cornwallis we now have only four plazas with all other spaces being traditional classroom spaces.
At Cornwallis we aim to provide students with a stimulating learning environment inside and outside the classroom so have invested in bringing the heart space to life with mathematical formulae lining the two main staircases as well as large House banners and murals that the students created being displayed. Over the coming term subject specific display boards will also be put up around the academy with key terms and information.
