Please read this letter to Year 7 Parents from Mrs McMahon
We have been instructed today by Public Health England to notify you that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the Year 7 bubble (case confirmed on Wednesday 11th November).
Therefore, it is mandatory as part of Test & Trace that all students in Year 7 self-isolate. As the confirmed case started to display symptoms on Monday 9th November, the 14-day self-isolation will finish on Sunday 22nd November. This is precautionary measure as your child may have been in contact with the positive COVID-19 case.
Students in Year 7 are permitted to return to school on Monday 23rd November 2020. The school remains open for all other year groups, including those who have siblings in Year 7.
We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
Students will follow their normal school timetable from home. All of their lessons will be delivered by their classroom teacher via Microsoft Teams. Information on how to access Microsoft Teams is available at www.cornwallisacademy.com/teams. At the start of each lesson, your child will be invited to a meeting, once they press “Join” they will be in their virtual lesson. If your Year 7 child does not know their Microsoft Teams login, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “CORNWALLIS PASSWORD”.
