Pupils at Cornwallis celebrate their results
GCSE results from Cornwallis Academy reinforce the upward trend of pupils attaining top marks, with an increase in the number of subjects in which students obtained A* - C grades.
There was a 90% pass rate or more in triple science (biology, chemistry and physics), sport and performing arts - including music, drama and dance – and a 100% pass rate in Mandarin and DT Food Technology.
High achievers include Ella Standen from Headcorn who obtained 8A* and A grades and 1 B and Robert Hammond from Staplehurst who obtained 10A* and As and 1B. His twin brother David achieved 6 As and 5 Bs, including triple science.
Along with David, students securing at least 8A*- C grades included Kieran Horrocks 7A*/A and 4Bs, Hannah Jee 6A*/A and 4Bs, Mason Humphris-Day 4A*/A, 5B and 1C, Bonnie Lamb 6A*/A, 3B and 1C, Emily Ball 5A*/A, 4B and 1C, Louis Walker 3A*/A, 6B and 1D, Olivia Hodson 4A*/A, 5B, and 1C and Charlie Haffenden 3A*/A and 6B
Twins Robert and David were thrilled with their results and now plan to go on to the Sixth Form at Cornwallis Academy.
Head teacher Isabelle Linney-Drouet said: “I am pleased with this set of results that students, parents and staff can be rightly proud of. Congratulations to them all.”
