Sixth Form Induction Day

Cornwallis held a couple of fantastic and eventful Sixth Form Induction Days on Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd June.

Our new Year 12 students were treated to a day of team building exercises on Thursday with Wise Up, an events company that specialise in team building days for students. Students spent the majority of the day attempting to figure out many different challenges in their teams, with some groups coming up with creative and innovative ways to overcome the obstacles put in their way.

Wise Up provided a brilliant day of activities for our new Year 12s, helping them make new friends and developing team skills that will be beneficial to students in the coming years.

To round the day off, a BBQ was provided where students could enjoy refreshments and food before heading home.

All students were given personalised timetables for day two, and attended subject taster sessions for each of their three or four chosen subjects for year 12. A student survey was conducted at the end of day 2, and 87% of students rated the experience as ‘good’ or ‘excellent.’

Mr Sutton, Director of Sixth Form, said ‘The induction process is integral to students’ seamless transition into year 12; promotes a sense of camaraderie amongst next year’s cohort, and offers an invaluable insight into the expectations of sixth form study.’

We wish all students every success this summer, and look forward to welcoming them back in September.
