Helen Whately Visits Cornwallis Academy

Faversham and Mid Kent MP Helen Whately visited our academy this term, where she spoke to students and witnessed some of the teaching that occurs at the school.

The Conservative MP is currently on a mission to visit every secondary school in her constituency; finding out students' opinions on their education and the changes they would make.

Helen enjoyed her time at the academy, meeting Headteacher Mrs Linney-Drouet and taking questions from various students regarding her position and the policies she is trying to implement for schools.

One of our Sixth Form students, who is looking to establish themselves in the political sphere, was able to meet and take advice from Helen.

Lastly, Helen was taken on a tour of the school to see the outstanding modern facilities and teaching that occurs in our classrooms.

We were delighted to show Helen around and we wish her all the best in bringing positive change to schools.
