Year 7 Mobile Planetarium

Year 7 students were taken on a journey through time and space, exploring planets and the possibility of extraterrestrial life outside of our solar system.

The University of Kent’s Outreach team were visiting Cornwallis Academy with their mobile planetarium once again to teach our youngest year group about the wonders of the universe.

Students sat in the inflatable dome and watched as they discovered planets outside of our solar system that had the potential to host life and learnt about the exciting prospect this could hold for humanity.

They were also informed that living on Mars was a possibility during their lifetime as technology continues to grow and expand; this is largely possible due to Elon Musk and his mission to conquer Mars through the SpaceX project.

The outreach team then took questions from our students about our own solar system and the different planets and moons that surround our sun.

Students had a fantastic time soaking in information regarding our solar system and the possible destinations humanity could reach in the future.

A big thank you to the University of Kent Outreach team for making this day possible.
